Flow?

In Daniel Pink's book Drive he discussed the idea of flow. First researched by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, FLOW is the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity, and a person is completely involved in an activity for its own sake.

I wonder, as teachers, do we usually have the time to engage in an activity (around teaching and instruction) for a long enough time to get to a flow state? And if not, how can we find the time to do so? AND ( I know, I am not supposed to do that twice in a row) if we CAN find the time, how will it improve our practice as educators? I also wonder how that translates to kids? If we can also get our students into a flow state, what will their experience in our classrooms be like?

I am going to post this now....because my brain is swimming. But, I will keep thinking on it. Let me know if you have thoughts.
